Step 2: Deep - Warm or Cool Undertones

Hi Jen, I recently got draped with a different system and the analyst had a really hard time decided if I was neutral or cool. She ultimately went with cool but I am a little confused. My hair is very dark but not blue-black. It has orange warm flecks when I shine it up to the sun, but has a little bit of a smokey darkness to it, almost like a charcoal dark chocolate. I also think I have olive skin with neither warmth or cool. What are your thoughts? I used to think I was a deep autumn but recently have been typed deep winter. I feel like your SCD type best fits me but I am missing dark brown, which also seems to be a good fit for me. Is there such a thing as a SND (soft, neutral, deep)?

I have a combination I think. I have olive skin that gets more brown when I tan than golden and dark brown hair that starts off very dark black with no tones at the roots. Dark brown almost black eyes. I look good in both silver and gold jewelry and red and purple lipsticks. So so confused as to whether I am dark winter or dark autumn.

Your Color Style is not seasonal color analysis so I can’t respond to your question about your season. You sound like you have cool undertones. If you had warm undertones, blue based lipsticks would look terrible on you. Red is neutral and can be worn by people with cool undertones. I hope this helps.

I would definitely have been a deep, warm type if I had not developed a depigmenting skin condition. I have dark brown eyes, dark brown hair with golden highlights, and black eyebrows, but my skin is basically without any pigment at all—extremely pale with pink undertones. Neutral lipsticks often look bright orange on me, I tend to look good in high contrast outfits, like a black dress with a white pattern, and lots of purples make me look dead. How would you classify me?

I appreciate your help in helping other women find out their true colors. Am not too sure if am warm cos I have winter qualities.

Skin: honey ( or i will say medium brown)
Eye: dark brown
Hair: dark brown

I’m assuming when you say you have “winter” qualities you mean that you can wear bright colors? If so, you can be warm and wear bright colors too. Honey brown skin means to me that you have warm undertones. If so then you would be bright warm deep
